A happy, upbeat collection of Pop, Funk and Dance tracks - perfect for summer fun, entertainment and light news.
  • VH006701 1:41
Happy, warm and uplifting. Organic, feel-good and foot-tapping Country-tinged combination of Folk, Indie Rock and Calypso that suggests wholesome vacation fun, being carefree and a reminder that "catch-and-release" is compassionate when fishing, but not when dealing with STDs. Uptempo Country/Western electric guitar line starts a mix that linearly builds by adding acoustic drums, fiddle, clapping, electric bass and a bouncy, friendly horn section. Lilting women's "ooo"ing vocals (@:26 and @:47) give the cut an inviting, celebratory island atmosphere (especially at the fast, driving timbale solo @:36) and a general feeling of contentment. Great for travelogues and island getaways.
  • VH006702 1:29
Bouncy, positive and possibly PTSD-inducing if you were ever victimized by a ukulele. Twee, fun and ultra-light AltRock featuring strummed ukuleles, tambourine, processed/muted electric guitars, upright bass, drum machine claps and the feeling that someone is desperately trying to make you forget the desolate shithole your life has become. A series of spare but movement-filled alternative mixes @:31 provides positive, loopable beds, appropriate for backgrounds or Suicide Hotline hold music. Returns to the main, clap-driven, fuller mix @1:01. Good for summer vacations, beach days, road trips, morning programming, overly-handsy ukuleles, non-threatening music for instructional videos and ultra-gentle Home Depot commercials.

Time to party! This high-energy, fun, percolating, bass-and guitar-driven Funk cut suggests uninhibited and alcohol-fueled evenings spent clubbing, enjoying expensive nightlife, beautiful people and the awkward reality of post-dancing man-boob sweat. Blasts of synth chords/brass hits punctuate this uptempo bed of slapped electric bass, choppy electric guitars, clapping, drums and general decadence. A relatively subdued bed of busy, filtered bass @:29 slowly builds back up to the explosively happy main mix @1:00. Great for celebrations, fashion and as a reminder that if you're going to bedazzle your underwear, the rhinestones go on the outside. Lesson learned.
  • VH006704 1:18
Plastic, glitter-filled 80s flashback. Not-so-gracefully-aged SynthPop that will remind you of crowded dance floors and realizing I've been married so many times that I now routinely show up on most people's "23andMe" genetic tests. Although the drum fills @:18 and :31 will bring back PTSD-level recollections of New Coke and the pre-rehab-years Care Bears, this cut uses tape-stop-like synth hits to create a melody over pulsing synth bass, drum machines and glittery-sounding synth pads. Great for overzealous ads for hair care products, celebrations, tongue-in-cheek image spots/industrials, 80s retrospectives, wearing parachute pants and reminding us of the days when style overruled substance.
  • VH006705 1:39
Hyperactive, fun, cartoony and obnoxious way of telling listeners you've lost your fucking mind or you might not be the best person to work in a pharmacy. This break-filled Pop/Punk cut features a melody of ultra-fast, attention-getting vocal "la la"s immediately followed @:04 by a noisy wall of electric guitars/bass, driving drums, sliding synths and a pounding piano part that will most likely result in a worker's comp settlement. Straight out of the gate, this cut suggests insane positivity and moronic drive, perfect for children's programming, image spots, extreme sports, and fast montages. Briefly becomes vocal-free @:32.
  • VH006706 1:23
Perky, playful and compellingly fun activity. Propulsive, yet jaunty/positive 20s Jazz with brushed drums, piano, trumpet and sax gets driven even harder @:03 with sharp, muscular sampled drums that create an attention-getting comedic, light-hearted cut that would be appropriate for sports, physical comedy, animation, inept policemen, slapstick and the unfortunate mental image of sex with the elderly. 23-Skidoo-esque male vocals begin @:11, with a looped/remixed woman's vocal starting @:47.
  • VH006707 1:54
Lighthearted, organic, kid-friendly, low-key/modest celebration that feels like that kind of giddy, internal happiness when you see communities working together or, if you live in Manhattan, only had to tase a few people during your morning commute. Contented male vocal "mmm"s combine with synthetically-processed female "ooh"s (morally-uptight clients: this sounds dirtier in print than it is) over a bed of mid-tempo kick drum, clapping, acoustic guitars and low synth/brass stings. Pitch-sliding computer-like vocals starting around @:21 suggest a combination of silliness and warmth. A section @:31 offers various loopable bed-like submixes getting fullest and most driving/inspirational @1:36. Good for morning shows, PSAs, image spots and sales at futuristic Home Depot.
  • VH006708 1:21
A sweet, whistle-driven roadtriptrip through the American South and Midwest. A bouncy, lighthearted (with a touch of melancholy) Country/Western travelogue that utilizes every musical stereotype (including non-musical ones like big hair, implants-or-not and unresolved geopolitical and socioeconomic inequalities) and forcefully hybridizes them with subtle synthetic touches. Starting with banjo, acoustic guitar, fiddle, acoustic drums, harmonica, slide guitar, synth bass and a happy-go-lucky group of people whistling the lead melody. @:31 a brief electric-guitar break gives the cut a hint of conflict, only to return to the light, whistling main melody @:48. Good for comedy, sports, wrassling, and musically remembering the Civil War, if you don't count all the violent deaths and stuff.
  • VH006709 1:38
Simple, ultra non-offensive fun. Light, frothy and meringue-like slick-sounding optimism that puts you in the sunshine, enjoying the blue skies and riding with your top down which is illegal in most states unless you're wearing pasties. Muted, chugging electric guitars, drum machines, strummed acoustic guitar chords, electric piano and clapping provide a movement-filled bed for a repetitive, synthetic vocal-like synth melody, getting happiest @:21 and @1:06. The cut has an almost glossy, futuristic feel to it with subtle reversed elements and gentle bit-dithered breaks. Good for non-intrusive morning show positivity, image spots for the Politeness Channel, soft-focus memories of G-rated teen years and the awkward explanation to police why you're driving topless.
  • VH006710 1:30
Instant Latin-American/Mediterranean-ization with a relaxing, inviting, non-threatening feel perfect for travelogues through any Spanish/Portugese-speaking area, adding a hint of intimate romance or at least anyplace that serves decent gazpacho. This AltFolk cut starts with a bed of straight electric bass and kick drum, then @:05 launches into a more driving bed of nylon guitar, drum machines, sampled/guitar-based percussion and Flamenco-like clapping with a simple guitar/perky synth melody starting @:11. Good for spots about the Mediterranean, spicy romances, and if Latin heartthrob Diego (from "Go, Diego, Go!") wants to make sweet, torso-less love to you.
  • VH006711 1:53
Swagger meets stagger. Instrumental, slightly comedic 30s-era Swing/Jazz is mixed with synths and modern drums giving it a toughness and attitude, making it perfect for sports bloopers, sitcom opens, tongue-in-cheek informational spots, busy cosmopolitan scenes and drunken carousing. Ultra-big sampled drums and synth bass/leads combine with a small brass ensemble (trombone, trumpets, clarinets and baritone saxophone), piano and stamping/clapping to create a hit-filled, mid-tempo driving cut that gets even more party-like and celebratory with the addition of vocal "heys" @:54.
  • VH006712 1:36
Videogame-like, cartoony, low-IQ SynthPop that was obviously written just to piss me off, this cut defies description. So I'll just write anything, as my boss never proofreads. This hyperactive cut uses calliope- and sax-like synths, furiously strummed ukulele, synth bass, pitch-sliding synths, Frangelico, half a shot of vermouth and other ingredients I'm copying from this bartender's guide. A break @:54 stops the cut entirely, allowing it to build back up, adding women's vocalese @1:35 giving the cut a gentler, more organic feel. Great for children's programs, carnivals, parties, celebrating, parades, anytime happiness overcomes taste or self-restraint. Serve chilled.
  • VH006713 2:07
Pure sophisticated fun. Looking for something that screams "convivial" and "obstreperous?" Aside from my Uncle Shlomo, who, after a stroke, thinks he's noted sesquipedalian George Will, try this cut, featuring choppy samples of retro 30s Big Band-era Swing/Jazz that are remixed with drum machine loops, slapped electric bass, organ and synth bass. Provides an uptempo, uplifting and happy background of busy movement broken up by various instrumental solos (like the bass solo @:32), breaks and bass/drum fills. Good for animated activity, children's programming, comedy and relief about Uncle Barry no longer thinking he's a woodpecker.
  • VH006714 1:24
Cartoon-like, slightly silly Gypsy/circus-like AltFolk puts you in a Parisian cafe with an elderly waiter on roller skates trying to simultaneously pour scalding-hot coffee and juggle kittens. Nylon guitar, shaker, stamping percussion, accordion and a processed ukelele melody create a bouncy, but comedic and off-kilter feeling that suggests bizarre dreams, weirdness, commercials in foreign languages, awkward mimes and comedy, like being forced with 73 sad-faced clowns. @:58 processed male and female vocals alternately count to three in French, making a good way to begin or end the piece.
