Artificial intelligence becomes a part of production music. With our music search tool “Trackster”, Sonoton Music opens new doors for its customers: For each song with a YouTube link, a link from Soundcloud or Vimeo or an audio file the tool finds matching equivalents in our catalogue.

The year of big numbers. Our repertoire has grown to include over 100 labels: We now offer our customers in excess of 500,000 tracks and celebrate the 25th anniversary of our music search.

Sonoton Music has been alive and kicking for half a century and shows no sign of fatigue. As the first composer and publisher to receive the “Hall of Fame” Mark Award bestowed by the International Production Music Association, Gerhard Narholz is honored in Hollywood for his life’s work.

Sonoton Music establishes Library Business in Germany. Cool, up-and-coming composers write and produce for the fledgling publishing house. International greats from Pop and Jazz are also on board.

Rotheide and Gerhard Narholz found Sonoton Music in Munich. Together, they reinvent English archive music for Germany: television stations can now use Gerhard Narholz's original film music compositions and illustrative underscores for their productions.
