Important but morphine-laden positivity/celebration that musically simulates being really happy while also sedated to the point of drooling and reduced to the verb/noun agreement of Cookie Monster. This slow but uplifting Emo/Rock cut starts with an expectant bed of lilting, delayed electric guitars, low synths, atmospheric piano and handclaps and eventually explodes @:08 with blasts of reverbed synths/guitar, simple drums and a male vocal (later joined by a female vocal) that sings about it being "a brand new day for us." @:29 it returns to the dream-like, shimmering bed of guitars/synths with snippets of reversed, trippy lyrics and a feeling that the cut will return to the anthemic chorus, which it does @1:05 with vocals appearing shortly after. Good for being optimistic even after you've lost gallons of blood, important breakthroughs, hopeful world events and devouring cookies, but forgetting how to swallow them.
Open up, 'cause it's a brand new day for us.
And I've been holding on, 'cause it's a brand new day for us.
Holding on, 'cause it's a brand new day for us.
Brand new day, it's a brand new day,
Brand new day for us.
Brand new day, it's a brand new day,
Brand new day for us.
'Cause it's a brand new day for us.
